Hey all--
I was just bored and noticed that there isnt much general "chit chat" on this Forum. I'm not even sure how many people scroll down and post in the Coffee & Tea room or check to see if there is any new posts in here. I am just curious to see how long it might take until someone responds to this.
So, I guess that I need to ask something for someone to respond.

It seems that when I am finished reading or posting on a thread and I click on the "All Forums" link it makes all the forums have purple folders like they have new posts in them. I know that this is a question for the "Bugs" forums. I will paste just the question in there too. I just wanted to know how many of you are having the same thing happen? Do you think its the board? Or, is it the browser that is being used?

Let me know what you think.

Coming right up Digga.

I've noticed that alot of the members on this site are from the UK and other places in Europe. It doesnt seem like there is to many from the US that use DMX. Or at least need help anyway.

Where in the UK are you Gigga? My mum just moved back to Newton Stewart.

Hi James

I've noticed the same, regarding locale of users on this forum and it's pretty cool having an even worldwide spread for a change. Also it helps the users as we end up with 24/7 coverage, almost.

I live in High Wycombe, Bucks and work for a company just south of Gerrards Cross, should really say north of Slough, but who wants to admit to being anywhere near Slough, if you know what I mean (probably don't)?

Newton Stewart, isn't that in the West Country somewhere? Are you an American national or do you have roots here, just asking as you say 'Mum just moved back' and so there's an assumption that you have blood connections here?

Take care.

Hey Digga--
Yeah your right about not really know where your from. The last time I was there, I was around 10 years old.
You know, I thought you might catch that "Mum" reference. My mum was born there in Scotland and moved back there to help her mum who is getting a bit old to do things herself. I was actually born here in the states.
So what do you do for work? Does it have to do with web development? I myself, am currently doing this as a hobby but I would like to make it a living someday. Its a little hard because I dont have any schooling behind it. I taught myself everything.

Hey do you know if there is an online counter for the Forum? I was wondering how many people were online and what forums they might be in.

Talk to ya later

Hi James

Lucky you being born there, sometimes this country is a cool place to be, other times I just want to get out of here and live someplace that isn't so restrictive. Just thought I 'd mention this is only my personal opinion though.

For work? Well I work in the IT dept, a department of 2, one a manager and the other, the clever one - me, lol. I provide network and client support, web development, more from a web application viewpoint than web site development, office devlepoment (vba, vb type of things) and like you I mainly self taught. My company finally realised that I could produced the goods and sent me on 10 training courses to do with web technologies - asp, sql, javascript etc etc. I'm really lucky as I get to produce the entire package, presentation, business logic and data. I don't have to wait for someone to provide me with a template or wait for the SQL man to build the sp's, I just get on. Also like you I want/need to break out and become self-employed, which is starting to happen, I've just got my first client - based in OHIO for an internal application. I really love my work, creating something out of nothing, all I need to feel really comfortable is experirence and more training - I'm trying to persuade my employer that I need ASP.NET and XML, which seems to be working well so far.

I haven't seen a counter on the forums, but I'm sure there's one on the Home Page just letting you know the active user count.

What do you do with your time James, do you work or are you studying?

Got to go and get some more experience, speak to you later.

Regards,

Digga
