I'm a beginner in webdesigning. I'm trying to create my site and I'm having a hard time to start. Could you tell me what is the very step to do when you have an 'untitled' document? Replies

Dear Aquarelle,
The first thing to do is designate a directory on your hard drive where you will keep your website. Decide where you're putting your images, style sheets, and pages. Make them their own subdirectories if you like.
If you've taken care of that, then the first thing I do when faced with an 'untitled' document is save it and give it a name. Dreamweaver will keep track of all your links, images, styles, and so on, but only once you've given your page a name and a place to live.
I hope this helps!

I can see this topic turning into a "How do you web design?" topic. <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
VitoTip #1: In addition to what Lara posted, I always add a DEV directory under the root and CLOAK that directory so it's not sent to the server. It keeps everything in one location and under each directory. So I have all my PNG, GIF, copy, and work files under that directory.
VitoTip #2: In the beginning when I start creating web sites, I ALWAYS create two web sites in DMX: 1). <website> (Local) and 2). <website> (FTP). Descriptions follow.
"Local"
------
Local: C:\WebSites\<workdir>
Remote: C:\INetpub\wwwroot\<workdir>
"FTP"
------
Local: C:\INetpub\wwwroot\<workdir>
Remote: FTP or the local publishing server.
This type of setup has two advantages:
1). If you make a mistake, you can see and fix your changes locally before you publish to a public server and humiliate yourself. <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
2). Databases and other external files will be tested on your machine FIRST, so you can generate a list for an ISP or Administrator describing what needs to be done on the server-side for everything to work properly.
Disadvantages:
----------------
1). If you make one change to a web page, you need to click Synchronize twice, once for your local and then once to publish to the web site.
This type of model has saved my butt many times. <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
Hope this helps...

Hoot and Vitoman are right. But, If I read your question correctly, then look for the "Title" portion in the document bar at the top of your screen and enter the name of the page.
It looks like this in Dreamweaver MX

I hope this helps you out. If you need more help on setting anything up in Dreamweaver, then let me know or just post in the forums.
