It seems that updating pages with templates works locally only. I have change a link in a template and choose update when prompted. Well, it works fine locally, but i upload the change template to a webserver remotely, all pages seems not affected at all? Why is it so and your help is much appreciated?thanks

Updating pages within a site using library items or templates only works within Dreamweaver itself, you have to upload all the pages in a site which use the template or library item to the web server for the changes to come into effect on the live site.
The web page does not link to the template or library item when it's hosted on the web server, it doesn't work like an asp include, in fact there's no point uploading your templates or library items to the web server. Think of templates and library items a bit like a pre-determined find and replace action within Dreamweaver.
