I'm using DWMX 6.1 to connect VIA ftp from my company LAN to a webserver sitting on the internet, just outside the firewall (ISA Server). During a Get Newer synchronization, DW iterates through all the folders, z-a order, looking for new and changed files. On the last folder (the first one in the local files listing) it hangs up. The FTP log reports a "loop" of port commands followed by NLST commands. I've increased the timeout to 120 seconds, same thing. It sits there and "hangs" - looping through the port/NLST thing until my internet connection is dropped for a split second, interrupting all IM/streaming/internet connections. THEN, because DWMX was unable to generate a listing of newer/changed files, it reports that there are NO files on the webserver, and that my local files need to be deleted.Of course I know better. Has anyone else experienced this weirdness?
I suspect ISA Server. I've tried using Firewall and SecureNAT mode, I've tried using a static IP and DHCP on the LAN to my workstation, and I've tried passive mode.
Passive mode just iterates through the folders repeatedly, finding newer files, but then acting strangely when DWMX tries to build the file list.
I've never seen anything like it before - has anyone else?

Have you tried using another FTP program?

Oh yeah. FlashFXP, Cute, WS, etc. I don't experience this problem with any of these.
Then again, I can't really synchronize the Dreamweaver Way with those either. While another FTP program is a viable workaround, it's not as convenient as performing all the site management within Dreamweaver.
I get a nice fuzzy feeling when things work right, and if I used another FTP client it would forever haunt me that "I can't use DW for this..."
