I am having a lot of problems with SSI in Dreamweaver. In the design view, the problems are numerous, -
1) the Included page may not show up at all
2) even if it does show, it may not be correct, and can not be selected, e.g. to change its properties like from file type to virtual type.
3) most of the time, the view is totally garbled.

I ended up having to go into Code view to hand massage the code to make it work

Preview most time does not even show the result corretly

With proper hand coding, the final result will work. But this isn't good!!!

Any help would be highly appreciated!

In the preferences menu under the Edit title on the top tool bar select the invisible elements option and de-select the serverside includes, show contents checkbox.

This will stop your ssi's from being displayed when in development.

NO. I don't mean not wanting to show it, I want to show in my desing view the total effect of the inclusion. But it won't show it reliabily, not only that, you can't even select the included item.

Any one encountered the same probolem?
