I just got an extention called phakt that uses ADODB connection type to connect to DBs. It also used the file type PHP4. Is this way better/reliable way of doing things or sticking to MX's default conncetion type?

ADODB has more built-in functions, like security scripts (login, logout, restric access), which Macromedia (for some fucking reason) decided to charge extra for.

and since Phakt / ADODB is opensource (like PHP itself), it just makes sense to use it. Also, it's upgraded and patched much more often than the Macromedia engine.
