Any reason why I cant view PHP code when I dl a php page from my web host?

your web host does not support php ?

Sorry miss understood, have you installed php on your machine and have you a web server like IIS up and ruinning on your local machine ?

Are you trying to view the PHP code via View->Source? or did you physically download the *.php file via FTP to your local drive?
