I'm building a asp site, but when i try to preview the site in my internet browser. the browser can't show the page i'm trying to preview, it just say that it can't find the server. but if i change the file name from koolkards.asp to koolkards.htm theres no problem but the links don't work. is there something wrong with my internet settings?

Hi dalton

Are you using ASP for any reason? eg connecting to a DB. If your pages don't need to be ASP I'd change them to HTM.

If you do need your pages to be ASP then you'll need PWS or IIS running on your machine to view your site.

If you want run/preview your site you will need to install or check if you already have installed either PWS if running win95/98 or IIS for 2000/XP. These can be found on the windows CD.

Once you have installed either one of those it will create the folder C:\Inetpub\wwwroot you should transfer your site in there.

I would have thought the book would have gone through setting up a site using PWS or IIS, I know the manual that comes with ultradev 4 does.

Hope it helps, if not post back and I'll try again
