after I have inserted a menu using the list o rama extension how can I go back and add an item to that menu?

You can add links in the design view. Just hit the enter key after the last bullet and you can add another.

thanks, so you dont get a dialog box back for making changes, just type the link etc in the code view?
I was trying to see how to change the colors, in the code it uses 3 digit color values, how do these work?
background-color: #036;
border-bottom: 1px solid #eee;
