Remote SQL Server Connection Using DMX

I need help connecting to my remote MS SQL Server. I try to connect to it using DMX and it will not work. I am using asp.net c#, windows xp (locally), windows server (hosted by Interland), windows sql server (hosted by Interland). The sql server and the web server are two separate servers. Please help.
