direct access on desktop

I would like to let my visitors to make a direct access to my website on their desktops, kin of the control D add to favorites, but installing the acces on the desktop instead of the favorites menu.

any ideas??

It's not exactly what you want but it may be of some use.

Make a picture showing the words "Create Shortcut" and stick it on your front page or where ever you want it, link it to the page you want people to bookmark.

When the user drags the pic to their desktop it adds a shortcut icon, using the sites favicon.
