I hope I have sent this mail to the correct place. I am a member and do receive the newsletter. I am having a difficulty putting a banner into a web site. This is curious because I can see it in the F12 function in Dreamweaver on my computer and in the remote view (on Dreamweaver)at the site. However the banner does not appear on the site. I developed the banner in Photoshop . I have been posting sites for a few years. Never have seen this before. On the site, I can see (in the source) the image mapping , but not the actual banner. The site is at rosmd0.tripod.com/fishpicsales/htmdocs/pageone.htm I have attempted posting on other servers and still no appearance of this banner. I can see the banner on other computers and all other images are viewable on my computer. Your advise is appreciated. Thanks for your time, Dick Ross Replies

Do you mean the banner behind the navigation at the top of the page?

Hey that one got me for a long time too. I could see on everyone elses computer but not mine and the person I was doing the work for. what is happening is the isp provider has a cache on his server to keep his bandwidth down. If someone accesses a page recently he keeps it stored on his server and checks it periodically for new content. other wise it just uses its cached information thereby cutting down on his bandwidth usage. the problem is if you do recent changes it won't alwaqys reflect them. Long story short if you hold CTRL+F5 (or is it SHIFT+F5) it will refresh the page and skip the cache. then you should see your banner. Let me know if this worked.

you also wanna look into your firewall if you have one installed.
norton personal firewall > (when you turn the Ad-trash can on) banners disappear from top of page.
the firewall classes them as ads, this is an issue i have had in the past, might be worth checking it out.

Dave

I did the control f5 check and no difference. I do not use a firewall as I have good protection using router. I am really puzzled on this one. Thanks for the attempts to help. Dick Ross
