we are working on a project to graduate from school and are looking for a way to both upload a file to the images folder and at the same time store the url for that file to the database any ideas??

If your server technology is based on PHP & mySQL then there are some extensions that you can get that will automate the process.

You should check out the Macromedia Exchange - do a search for Felix1 (I think -- it's called Simple Upload)

That should do the trick. I found it easier to use the extensions at first before trying to write my own code to do it. -- There's also the pure PHP upload extension available here.
