hy everybody,
I'm a new member of this community, I'm starting using dreamweaver, so I've a lot of questions..
The one to which I can't find the answer is this:
-- can I structure my page to view a document in format .txt or .xcl or .pdf in it? How can I?
I need to know it because I'm planning an information system in which there are a lot of document in different format (recorded in a DB) and I would have the possibility to visualize them in their original format when selecting the path in which they're stored.
Many thanks from now for your attention!
Waiting for suggestions,
best regards, Lia

Assuming this is an internet (not intranet) site.

What a user can do with your site and/or page is pretty much controlled by them. You can provide links to a .pdf, or embed a flash object, but if they do not expressly allow that, then you're SOL. Different browsers can also play havoc.

I suspect that your best option is to provide the link to the file and "hope" the user has an associated program capable of viewing the file. If this is a controlled environment (like an intranet) things get a bit easier.
