Hello, I am relatively new to the world of Dreamweaver, HTML, etc. So, hope you will forgive the 'newbieness' of the question.

I have a Project Seven template that I want to use as the base for a site I'm trying to build. This will be a quasi e-commerce site in that I would like for users to be able to setup an account, select various items, and add them to their cart. Credit card processing is not required nor expected to be added in the future.

What I really would like to know is if I could modify the Project Seven template I want to use to handle the type of site I've just described. I chose the particular template due to it's ability to handle virtually almost all versions of every browser I've tested it with.

Now, to only be able to add the 'shopping cart'...

Thanks in advance to anyone who could set me on the right path.

Gregor

A template is usually just a page design not the content so yes you should be able to modify the template to contain anything you want.
To be on the safe side with copyright though check the license agreement where you bought the template to make sure it doesn't forbid you from altering the template.
