Is there a way to store snippets within one's own directory structure so that they become available to others using the files over the ether, or is it a case of sending the code within an email, and getting them to paste up a "new snippet"?

the problem is that the snippets are saved in your settings in documents and settings under your profile and although you could share this folder so others accross the network can access it, i dont think your network administrator would be happy with you doing that!

You cannot specify in dw the location of this folder, it must be in its current location.

What I did, was create a snippets section on my personal website so I and others can access it. Maybe that is a solution?

hope that answers your question

i dion't think it can be stored in the directory structure, unless of course, you add a file called snippets.asp or whatever , and put a load of code in there commented as to what each bit does.

Thanks. Having read from Vince & Dave - I suppose it's possible to work within W.Explorer and simply drag from the Settings directory into a special directory set up in one's site, and upload it. Other users could then simply book it out and drag & drop it over to their own Settings area then everyone's up-to-date ??? If they add in any new ones before uploading, then just alert other people that this has been done, perhaps. Yet to try it.

You have two options here, if you have a website running, you could create a db that holds the text of the snippet or, you could just allow directory browsing in IIS for the directory where you have stored the snippets within your site structure, then they could get at them throughr the browser....

lots of possible options, depends on your time limits...
