Hello, I am trying to set up a site with Dreamweaver mx2004 and coldfusion mx. When I installed Coldfusion, I set up a password for RDS. Everything works fine, then I turn off my computer, and from that point on I can't make database connections because when I am going through the setup checklist and click on RDS login, I get the following error message:
The server name or address could not be resolved:
Possible reasons:
1. The URL specified for the testing server may be incorrect.
2. The testing server may be incorrectly configured(for example, Coldfusion may not be running).
What is going on? I reinstalled coldfusion and once again it worked until I turned off my computer and now the password prompt doesn't come up.

Hiya,

Have you set up your connection using a dsn (data source name) in the odbc connections tool?

If so, did you add the connection under User DSN or System DSN?

I looked in Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC).
All the Coldfusion data sources(Access databases) are listed in the System DSN tab. The MS Access Database is shown on the User tab.

have you stored the username and password in the connection you created? maybe that is missing?

All the dbs that you are using should be in the system dsn section although I dont think that should make any difference if you are using your pc as the testing pc...that should only effect someone else trying to access your pc through a lan....
