I'm wondering if anyone knows a way around this problem. I'm building a PHP/MySQL website and the server in question has to be password protected until the launch date.

I'm using the authentication protocols built into the Apache web server. Everything works fine except Dreamweaver can't reach the database.

I believe that when DWMX test the database connection via the URL Prefix in the site definition it runs into the Apache authentication request and has to avenue to deal with it and the connection dies.

Does anyone know a way around this? I've tried embedding the user id and password into the URL prefixe, but that doesn't work.
