Hi,

I'm running winXP Pro and have just installed all the latest updates (the security patches).

I have an asp site using an Assess DB in my webroot folder. I'm now getting the following error.

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '(unknown)'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.

I've tried looking on the Macromedia and Microsoft sites but I still can't get it to work.

I understand it's a permission thing but it looks like I have my permissions set so everone has full access.

Any help appreciated,
Thanks in advance
Wayne.

It was a permission thing. The temp folder needed to correct permissions to be set.

I gave the temp folder the correct permissions and it works fine now.

hope this is of use to someone else.

Glad you fixed that one quickly wayne, had me stumped for ages when I encountered it.

For anyone else reading this, Wayne, did you have to remove simple security view and show full NT security and then add the internet guest account to the security rights?

I know some people just changed it using the simple security but that didnt work for me, I had to go for the complicated route (typical)
