I created a graphic with a pop up menu in fireworks. Exported to DW as HTML and images. When previewing in browser, graphic appears OK but pop up menu does not work. Any advice? What am I doing wrong. Is it possible to create pop up menu in DW without using FW? If so how is it done? Replies

One way to this is using javascript and layers.
Search google for layered or pop up divs or DHTML menus.
That should give you an indication of what you can do.

did you make sure the .js file was in the correct place, this is what controls the menu.

I have had the same problem, and my looking thru all the Macromedia tech things, I've found that Dreamweaver can only link pop-up menus when they use the "fw_menu.js" that Fireworks 4 uses, but MX2004, so far, for me makes the "mm_menu.js" file, that Dreamweaver can't use... so I'm here hunting for the same answer... race ya.

how are you doing it?
ive just created a test page with a menu from a hotspot on my image and it worked fine with the <b>mm_menu.js</b> file
fireworks mx 2004
dreamweaver mx 2004
are you moving the .js file and breaking the link?

Dave

Okay, so, here's the url to the technote from Macromedia:
www.macromedia.com/support/fireworks/ts/documents/fwpopupssiteroot.htm
It's about FW4, I know, but did they fix that fw_menu/mm_menu thing in MX2004? And if so, why ain't the things working? My browser (IE)?
