Hi I am having trouble creating a recordset from an access database. I can create the connection and test it ok but when i attempt to create the recordset i get an unable to retreive tables error. Funny thing this has now started happening on pages that previously worked. I am using dreamweaver mx with xp pro. Thanks in advance

Did you upgrade operating systems... and if so from what to what? You may be running IIS now and if so you need to set permissions on the folder that the database is located.

Hi, i recently resinstalled xp pro, but to be honest i cant see in the iis control panel where and what permissions i have to set. If i remember correctly i did not have to set any permissions when i orginally installed XP. Plus i have recently upgraded to the latest version of dreamweaver mx.

Ok first off is it XP home or XP Pro. Home does not support IIS you will have to upgrade to Pro to run IIS.

Second if you are running Pro, then go to "Settings" --> "Contro Pannel" --> Add Remove Programs to see if IIS is installed. If not Install.

If Installed you should be able to see the directorys established by IIS and manipulate the directory permissions. Have you refered to the help session of IIS? Typically found at localhost/iisHelp/iis/misc/default.asp. if you cant see this, then IIS is not installed.

Hi yes its pro vesrion and iis is installed, an i have set my local host up. Testing pages is not a problem so i know that part of the iis is running, just cannot reteive any tables from any databases at all. This is so weird!!
