i´m startting y development. ussin dreamweaver mx y i made an access database, but i can not make the conecction with this database...i think i dont know how to make the connection string...i¨m developin without a iis or pws, because i have windows millenium, so I´m designniing on my site directly on my remote server, but it insist that i should hava a testing server (?).....please HELP and Thanks

Use the remote server as your testing server to keep dreamweaver happy - that will get round that side of things.

Next are you creating a dsn or dsn-less connection?
Many hosts have a feature to create the dsn link you need on their site so you will need to use that to connect to your database rather than one you create locally
Otherwise if its a dsn-less connection then try the tips on this site www.able-consulting.com/ADO_Conn.htm especially the Server.MapPath method as this way you dont need to know the actual path to the database, only the folder that holds the db
