Concerning target="_blank"... How can I specify a background color of the new browser window? Also, since this is a gallery page, can I specify that images open in the same new browser window, rather than run the risk of someone having several new browser windows open? Thanks for any advice!

there are some great extensions available to do all this for you if you prefer, the best ive seen so far for what you want is Just-So picture window extension, that can be modified to change your background colours etc..
