Forgive my ignorance over a very simple issue..

I have a website project in hand for a trade organisation.. they wish to display the list of the 200 members and their contact details, which is currently held in an excel spreadsheet, which can be exported to Access or a tab delimited text file if needed.

One option is just to have a static page that lists all members... or use the database

I've never built a database driven site, but see this as an opportunity to start. I envisage the ability to display all members or sort by region, name etc With a flat file database is this a simple project and where do I start?

Just start at the beginning with some tutorials you can find here (Premium Content) or at the website from Macromedia. (www.macromedia.com/devnet). Another good thing is to buy a beginners book. The "Training from the Source" method is very good!
