It looks better than the current home page, but then again that's looking cluttered and messy anyway.
Any idea how much more are they going to do to that design / do they want our feedback at all?

I like the other zones are an easy click away! It could help kick up the other zones for .Net, FW, CF, Flash. <i>(top-left)</i>

I would assume the "<b>Contribute</b>" nav link would then spawn a sub-navigation. I say assume becauase there are Polls, Games, Projects; "<b>Learn</b>" would probably spawn Tutorials, E-Books, Books, FAQ's, and Premium Content; "<b>Create</b>"...hmm, I'm stumped. <i>(left-nav)</i>

<b>Do you think that RSS page links are still going to be needed?</b> Browsers are incorporating RSS readers/detactors, posing the question: RSS feeds not be a text link...then if someone is an RSS "user" they notice when RSS icons activate - <i>"we use what we know"</i>?!?

I think clear interaction between the zones would be a good thing. Personally I rarely use any of them, I'm more a developer than designer working with databases more than flash but if its all easy to get to then that's good - maybe I'll stumble into something and start getting into flash.

The Navigation... hmmn, as Chris says its not very clear where things are going - but then I guess that's because this is a mock-up more than finished design, though the current Nav has organically outgrown itself I think.

Most of the time I'm in the forums - I get my newsletter that lets me know about new tutorials and updates to extensions so I don't need to visit the home page that much.

That's what <i>MyDMXzone</i> is for...I wonder if this will play a more intregual part in the site itself. The DMXzone survey asked a few questions about it, maybe they were poking and hinting. <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

Looks nice!

We'll see what's good and what's not when we use it won't we.

My only issue with the current layout is the layers, when reading posts, being hidden under the right hand column. DMXzone can publish any design and site they wish, but if the site owners do not make timely adjustments to the site when feedback is being given, then they might as well not bother with a redesign.

Any news on forum updates/change? What Snitz version is this here (now)? I wonder what's out as of 2005? Do you think this is super-customized where a Snitz patch takes weeks? <i>Ouch! <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle></i>
