ya see, i have this html document that has the default font color for links.. (blue) this is fine..however, at the bottom part of everypage is a collection of links on a black background.. now we know that blue and black doesnt quite jive.. so i wanted to change them to white.. but i can't. it seems as if it's locked to what is default.. and if i change the default font color for links, it messes up the whole website because i'll be having white text on white background..

is there a way to overcome this?

You'll need to use CSS and set up different classes for your links.
In that way you can have a style for links in the main body of the page, and a completely different style for the links at the footer.

What he's doing is quite unusual - but it does show you how to create different link styles and how to apply them.

2 choices...
1 do it with CSS
2 do it with javascript

of those my personal choice would be CSS
I've seen articles on both methods - suggest you do a quick search on the zone and also google and if you get stuck give us a shout
