Hi there,

I am the webmaster for the site www.naturalmatters.net, built using Dreamweaver. We have many advertisers, who are able to edit their listing by logging into a control panel, secured using the standard Dreamweaver "Restrict Access to Page" behaviours.

About 1 in 50 customers compains that they can't get into the control panel, as they keep being bounced back to the login page. They say this is despite entering repeatedly the correct password, and we have even set up a page where the password is not hidden by ***s so they can check this. Yet when we login using their password, we get in fine.

I was wondering if there were any features on the users computers that could be causing the problem? For example, if you use cookies to log in, you would advise visitors that they need to have their browser set to accept cookies, or they would keep being bounced back to the login page. Are there any similar issues with server variables, which may upset the system?

Thanks for your help,

Dan

I have had to help some clients change their 'Session Cookie' settings.

INTERNET EXPLORER
1) Go to 'Tools' > 'Internet Options'
2) Select 'Privacy' tab
3) Under 'Settings', select the 'Advanced' button
4) Make sure to place a check mark in 'Overide automatic cookie handling' and 'Always allow session cookies'

This fix has fixed every issue I have seen.
