A friend of my is trying to re-vamp an old website and alot of the file names are very long, and when he creates a new link to one of these html files the link.. 'in the DM properties box ' will not display the complete name of the file and replaces some of the words with "#%2" does anyone have any ideas. Oh he is not allowed to change the file name.

sometimes in the past people would use symbols like %20 (this tells IE that it is a space in a word) for example.

your friend should use the 'find & replace' commands to do a lot of his work for him. it can do multi pages and is very handy.
