button made w/fireworks does not link in dreamweav

im using fireworks 8 and dreamweaver 8 ...i have created all my page layouts (including buttons) for my website in fireworks...then i exported the html and images to dreamweaver ...when i try to link my button to another page within the site the button goes away.....? help please =)
