Hi,

I just signed up and have a huge question. I'm completely new to the Dreamweaver design, web design for that matter, and everyone I've asked about developing says Dreamweaver is very easy to use. I have designed a site with several pages of content, created a DSN called newsite and I thought I set the appropriate values in the Log In User server behavior, but when previewing in browser and entering valid database information, after clicking submit button I receive this error:

Error Type:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '(unknown)'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.
/new site/TMP7c0v4wu7i3.asp, line 14

Line 14 reads:

MM_rsUser.ActiveConnection = MM_newsite_STRING;

And that is the name of the DSN I have designated. I have searched the Microsoft wesbite for the error code and it says it is a NT related problem, but I have XP pro. I have no knowledge of Javascript so the wizard was very helpful to me, but it is not working correctly. I have installed the IIS component to use my computer as the testing server before actually buying a domain name and having it hosted. Am I not doing this correctly? All the HTML pages view correctly, just not the .ASP pages. Anyone have any ideas? I would appreciate any help with this matter. Thanks!

PS I using an Access database for the source if that is useful and Dreamweaver MX.

Hi Sam!
I'm quite green when it comes to DW, but I yhink your problem might be related to the read/wright rights. Make sure you have the read and wright access to the actual database.
That might solve the problem.
DW can be a littel "tricky" whem working against Access, sometimes i helps to restart the program.

Best of luck to you!!
