Like the looks and the product design stuff, however I'm biased, that's what I studied at Uni, but it's too slow for poor mortals with 56k modems.

First page took 2 minutes to load, layoutslice_01.gif is 218k! I've built whole sites that are less than that (OK small crummy 5 page static sites).

Use something like Photoshop 6.0, Fireworks or Paintshop Pro to optimise the graphics. You will have to drop the quality a bit, but you should be able to find a balance. Better that someone looks at a slightly lower quality image than gives up and clicks eleswhere. You mention Photoshop 6.0 in your computer skills section, when you use <b>Save for Web</b>, keep an eye on the time indicator at the bottom left of the optimised window.

One other minor point, I think you need some space between the left navigation area and the page text.

Took a look in Netscape 4.08 and couldn't see any difference to IE 5.5

I know this is an older post, but I was just looking through things, My opinion is that I was unable to see the links real well, make them have a mouse over or something, or make them more bolder, the menu is just hard to read and get a good feel for, not sure what I am selecting when I click. Also me personally, can't stand the fade out, the Frontpage kinda look, when you click a link it fades to the other page, very choppy looking on a lot of machines, and not well see in Netscape.

Anywas those are my opinions, but your doing a great job, layout/images and all that are very tough to get right.

-i agree with murphster..."more bolder" would be kewl. The navigation is a little tough. Perhaps thumbnails of the images prior to click and more contrast for the text of the buttons. Perhaps even a "mouse-over" that lights up the text on mouse-over to seperate it from the "busy" feel of the site.
BTW- LOVE your 3-d meshes!

There are no "webmasters"...only "webstudents". Now, snatch the floppy from my hand, grasshopper.

Menu isn't as obvious as it should be. visitors needs to be able to find important parts of site without any trouble.
When I came to your site I tought that I need to click on 'New site design'. Remove underline 'couse people will think that's link.
It took me a while to discover that there is menu to the left. I tought it's just ilustration.
In short, I like your design but usability is disaster.
