full XML support, including XSL and XQL is my future, therefore would be nice on UD5.

Improved stability automatic updates similar to windows update system would be nice. But that means that Macromedia would have to work for their money and create patches.<img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>

Blimey! I'm so glad that my wish wasn't on the 5th page already as it's taken me ages to look thru all this lot - you've got your work cut out <b>MM</b>!!

Anyways, my wish, pure and simple:

I wish the "update record" server behaviour realised that not all tables a have a single primary key - some use two columns in combination to form a primary key.

It's a fairly quick hack to add the second primary key to the SQL, but a longer one to do it in a way that looks consistant with the Ultradev generated code. And <i>tidy code maketh the man</i> (or something like that).

If anyone reading this knows how to modify the built-in "update record" to have a second primary key field, you could always save MM the bother <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Update/insert on multiple recordsets
Fix the dumb redirect on insert/edit/delete to be properly dynamic (had a go but my extension is still buggy)
nested repeats
make include files easier to impliment (I hate templates)
in general, finish off the damned extensions before the release of the product

Full support for .aspx (asp.net) and integration of extensions supporting coding scripts in VB.NET and C#. (I hate using InterDev, but there are some incredible features that I will resign myself to dual-developing without this).

Also better error trapping and either an improved integration of includes or a better method of handling templates. (Improved logic for whether to allow/disallow editing of scripts contained or accidentally inserted into the template region by extensions or behaviors).

I currently hand code all my php. If Ultradev had full support for php4+MySQLfront/phpMyAdmin DB management front-ends, I can guarantee purchases from our institution.

First of all, that for a first time every option works fine and done the right job, haven't seen a more buggy code in mi live.

Second thing is that they add a macro recording system, something like photoshop actions, is really incredible that the only way to automate stupid steps we have to code and mostly handcode an extensión is a crazy thing, think on a Word user working for months to create a template and some automatic steps? It's crazy, so why our time is less valued for Macromedia.

Third thing is real support to web standars, xml, xhtml, CSS (all versions), ASP 3.0, APS .Net and Web forms, etc., etc. is the point if this tool cannot generate correct code, why we need such tool.

And the last thing is a sort of intellitype like the feature you have in visual basic, you have access from the code to all the document structure, don't have to remind the objects, variables, etc. It's really help to code well formed and type bug-free code.

I would love to have UD add Set RecordsetName = Nothing when it closes the recordset, i know theres an extension for this on basic-ultradev but it would be faster if it did this automatically

Display the code from the include files in code view, it works in design view why not just add the code view, like with libraries and templates

ability to read response right so if i use response.write(td) it puts in a column. or even better make all the html in response.write... hmm i think that would work... <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

opps forgot xml and xsl that would be great

but most importantly add dotNet scripting, or im afraid ill have to switch to VisStudio again.. <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

thats it for now, more to come when i have more to right <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

source file flagging:

i'd like a really easy way to flag files in the site files window to be ignored on synchronize. i.e. so that i can flag the photoshop file but not the jpg. that way i can design and code in the same file structure without having my big files get uploaded to the server when i synchronize.

The 'advanced' recordset view, when constructing a sql query, needs to be resizable. The portion of the window available to edit the raw sql in is way too small when dealing with large queries. very annoying.

i agree completely. and how about support for complex SQL like Union selects. and why not a decent visual SQL query builder. even access can do that. that little tree at the bottom doesn't really suffice.

I would like to see better templates - with the ability to save recordesets as modifiable chunks of code for use on pages throughout a site.

I would also like to see the ability to filter one recordset with another without having to hand code.

Show/Hide regions should be expanded to include show if in a table - etc.

Insert, update, delete forms should have a way to select custome error pages to display if there are errors. These should allow three or four pages for common types like - duplicate key contraints, adodb errors, etc.

More integration with flash - why not allow flash variables to be manipulated visually in Dreamweaver. or the ability to assign values to those variables - without having to response.write.

Versio 4.01 of UltraDev is confused by commas in SQL queries that are not field separators. This needs to be fixed so we can use functions in our selects.

I'm querying an ORacle 8i database and trying to do "select substr(problem.description,0,20) from problem_data". UltraDev chokes on this because of the commas in the function. It thinks "20" is the name of another column that will be returned by teh query.
